![]() How can you modernise a game like SaGa Frontier without unwittingly polishing away a soul that derives in large part from how unpolished it was to begin with? And yet, SaGa Frontier Remastered, somehow, manages to walk that tightrope effortlessly. The risk in remastering such a game is that you lose all of that. Some of these features are simply quality of life improvements while others add more to the game. These new features are all optional of course, so if you choose to experience SaGa Frontier as it was on the PlayStation, you can do so. Faster battle speed settings, the ability to escape from battles, a scenario chart to log objectives, and auto-equip were all added as well. The option to show map pointers was added and this will allow you to see pointers above areas that access other areas. You’ll be able to carry over items, credits, parameters, and techniques from save data. and while this isn’t a new concept, it is incredibly exciting to see an RPG include this feature because it allows for further leveling and character growth. To access them, you’ll want to select “Activate Additional Content” when you start a new game. There will be new story events that were originally planned but never implemented in the first release of the game. Other Added FeaturesĪlong with the new playable character Fuse and the route that comes with his character, there are few other things Square Enix has detailed about this release. Fuse will be a playable character in this remaster. Square Enix has even added a new playable protagonist, Fuse, as well as loads of other new features. There is a ton of replay value in this game since every protagonist gets their own story. Just like the original game, this remaster will feature classic turn-based combat. Each character has their own path and endings and your choices throughout the game will effect how these stories unfold. Choose between 8 different characters and watch each of their stories unfold. SaGa Frontier Remastered will bring the PlayStation classic to current consoles. SaGa Frontier Remastered will feature eight playable characters this time since they added Fuse for this remaster.
